Just about 9 months ago we got your baby brother an agent for print work and he has been going on auditions every now and then. \u00a0About 3 months ago you came to me as said, “Mom, I think it is about time I started earning some money.\u00a0 Do you think I can go on auditions too?” \u00a0I said yes, but was surprised that you had asked.\u00a0 You see, your\u00a0are not exactly an extrovert.\u00a0 You aren’t shy, but definitely\u00a0not a typical\u00a0actor-type kid.\u00a0 Last week you had your very \u00a0first audition.\u00a0 You had to go in a room with\u00a0a man and\u00a0a teen girl and pretend they\u00a0were your family, jump out at them and scare them. \u00a0As soon as you realized I could not got with you, your giant eyes welled up with tears of terror. \u00a0In a pinch, I tried to distract you by showing you pictures on my phone. \u00a0Luckily, one of your little brother covered in sand had you cracking up. \u00a0I gave you my phone so if you got scared you could look at it for support to make you smile. \u00a0You put\u00a0the phone\u00a0in your pocket. \u00a0As I peeked through the glass door you were fine at first for about\u00a0a minute.\u00a0 Then you looked panicked and put you hand to your face\u00a0as your eyes filled with tears.\u00a0\u00a0Right as I was about to bust in and “rescue you” you put one finger up to the director, pulled out my phone, found the picture, smiled, wiped away your tears then scared the family on cue.\u00a0\u00a0You came out and told me it was scary, but the picture saved you. \u00a0Today you had a callback for that same part.\u00a0 We printed out the picture, and you put it in your pocket and you\u00a0sailed through this audition with no tears.\u00a0 I don’t know if you will get the part, and I couldn’t care less, but\u00a0being able to watch you cope in a way I don’t think I ever could was priceless.<\/p>\n
